During the World’s Children Day celebrations in Rome in May 2024, the 5P Global Movement collaborated with various stakeholders such as UNBROKEN to host the 5P Kids Symposium on May 24, 2024, at Università LUMSA. This symposium, organized by 5P Global Movement, is a scientific exposition on the current condition of children’s rights, coinciding with the 100 Years Commemoration of the Geneva Declaration of the Rights of the Child.
The 5P Kids Symposium is dedicated to emphasizing children’s rights, particularly those affected by conflicts, and introduced the 5P Kids initiative aimed at assisting children globally. The symposium highlighted the resilience of children in conflict-affected areas and unveil a collaboration with UNBROKEN to support children in such zones through initiatives like the 5P Unbroken Kids Center for Ukraine and Palestine; it focused on creating international networks for assistance and present an assistance complex currently in Ukraine.
The symposium featured notable attendees including Arsjad Rasjid (Co-Founder of the 5P Global Movement), Fr Marcin Schmidt (Co-Founder & Secretary General of the 5P Global Movement), Marek Michalak (Former Minister of Children’s Rights and Chancellor, Knight of the Order of the Smile), Rev. Professor Adam Solak (Associate Professor of Special Pedagogy, Maria Grzegorzewska Academy), Fr. Adi Prasojo (Secretary-General of the Archdiocese of Jakarta), Fr. Bashar Fawadleh (Parish Priest in Taybeh), and Sylwia Tubielewicz Olejnik (President of the 5P EUROPE Foundation).
On the following day, we had the opportunity to meet with Pope Francis for an audience to discuss the various problems and challenges faced by children today. Subsequently, on May 26, we participated in the culminating event of World’s Children Day at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome, attended by thousands of children and parents.
Through the 5P Kids initiative, we are committed to taking an active role in addressing the myriad issues and challenges faced by children globally.
