The Peace Declaration for a Sustainable World Continues to be Rolled Out

BALI – The United in Diversity (UID) Foundation invites all parties to create a more harmonious and sustainable world. The invitation is manifested in the Tri Hita Karana Universal Reflection Journey (THKU) event, which will be held in Bali, on Saturday (14/12).

In campaigning for peace amid diversity, UID also called for support for the Istiqlal Declaration, a call for interfaith tolerance during Pope Francis’ visit last September. Tantowi Yahya, President of UID, said the Istiqlal Declaration is a call for unity in building a better future.

Today, humanity is facing increasing challenges. The Istiqlal Declaration is a hope that illuminates the path to peace and prosperity for all humanity.

“This moment is a call for all of us to reflect on the world’s greatest challenges while formulating sustainable solutions rooted in harmony between people, nature, and spirituality. In the spirit of Tri Hita Karana, we invite all leaders, innovators and observers to join this journey of transformation,” he said.

The event was attended by a number of national and multinational leaders, including Chairman of the MPR RI Ahmad Muzan, Chairman of the National Economic Council Luhut B Pandjaitan, Minister of Religious Affairs Nasaruddin Umar, and Presidential Special Envoy for International Trade and Multilateral Cooperation Mari Elka Pangestu.

Together with the 5P Global Movement, UID also introduced the 5P values of people, planet, peace, prosperity and partnership.

Tantowi emphasized that their cooperation forms a platform that can support the spread of harmony and sustainable messages.

“Collaboration and innovation based on the values of humanity, peace and sustainability are very important today. I believe this collaboration will contribute to creating a more harmonious and prosperous future for the next generation,” he added.

The inaugural Tri Hita Karana Forum on Sustainable Development was launched at the Bali APEC in 2013. The second Tri Hita Karana Forum for Sustainable Development was held on 9-11 October 2018 around the IMF WB Annual Meetings.

Convened under the theme “Blended Finance and Innovation for Better Business Better World”, over 500 participants from across sectors – senior levels of government, entrepreneurs, development banks, international donors, investors, project developers, business and NGOs – attended the Forum.

The Tri Hita Karana (THK) Forum aligned global action for the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with a particular focus on mobilizing private capital and innovation for the SDGs in Indonesia and South East Asia.

The THK Forum demonstrated Indonesia’s leadership in the Global SDG Agenda and innovative financing solutions to achieve SDGs. It launched over 30 high-impact initiatives and was estimated to have mobilized close to $10 billion for priority SDGs sectors including green infrastructure, sustainable land use, oceans, ecotourism, health, women and innovation.
